Hello,

For those of you that don’t know, I live in Florida and I grew up on the east coast of South Florida.

This is basically me right now:

Hit reply and let me know if you got that joke lol I’m really curious!

There is so much that is uncertain about this storm.

We don’t know if it will make landfall or when.

I don’t know if my families houses will be damaged or flooded.

There’s no way to know if it will end up even hitting us at all.

One of the biggest things my mental health journey has taught me is to choose certainty even in difficult situations.

Instead of focusing on all of the unknowns I am choosing to focus on the things I know for sure.

I’m certain that I am strong and I always survive.

I’m certain my family always figures it out in the end.

I’m certain we can rebuild.

I’m certain that Florida’s communities are resilient and in times of crisis we always come together.

I’m certain we can overcome any sucky difficult situation that comes our way.

I know that most of you are not in the storm’s path but we are put in difficult situations that are often riddled with uncertainty in different ways.

I hope this helps you to focus on the things you know for sure instead of dwelling on unknowns.

Trust me, I know it’s easier said than done. I am sitting here looking at a massive storm that is lingering very close to the people I love and care about.

I get it. I understand.

However, I also know that you can do hard things and you’re capable of changing your thoughts and beliefs.

When you’re thinking thoughts that are making you upset that’s your cue to think about something else.

Tell your brain that you need to change the channel.

I’ll be doing a lot of channels changing myself for the rest of the night.

Have a great evening and stay safe,

Faith

PS

I talked about this on the Mental Health Morning show over in the Facebook group this morning if you’re interested <3
